STATION IMAGING TIP: DON'T JUST TALK ABOUT YOUR STATION

On average, you need at least 15- 20 fresh new imaging promos, sweepers, and rejoins a month. (The more the better.) But don't make the mistake of making ALL of your imaging about YOU. About 1/2 of your imaging needs to be ABOUT the listener.

Give them some "meat." Give them some short features that help them- physically, mentally and spiritually. Listeners love short QUALITY features. So DO promote your station. But mix them with a generous supply of short features the talk to the listener- about the listener. YEP. Those short features "image" your station just like your "imaging features" do.

A note to music stations: don't make the mistake of thinking the just because listeners want MORE music- that they want ONLY music. This is a classic example of the pendulum swinging too far the opposite extreme.

Our research has found that listeners love to have the music stations spiced up with some spiritual "meat" found only in short features. Creative short ministry features should be considered part of your "imaging" and taken as seriously as a station promo!
